Pg. 17-19, geol. map. Antelope Mountain Quartzite. Greenish-gray, gray, brown, and tan, medium- to coarse-grained, moderately well to poorly sorted, well-bedded quartz arenites. Includes some beds and lenses of chert alternating with clastic rocks. Thickness may be 4,900 to 5,500 feet (1,500 to 1,700 m). Underlies Cretaceous and Tertiary rocks. Overlies Duzel Phyllite, in most places contact is modified by faulting. Some rocks are similar to the Duzel; the Antelope Mountain may be a facies of the Duzel. Age is tentatively considered Ordovician(?).
Type locality: main ridge of Antelope Mountain, in secs. 26 and 35, T. 44 N., R. 7 W., and in secs. 2, 3, and 10, in T. 43 N., R. 7 W., Yreka 15-min quadrangle, Siskiyou Co., northern CA. Named from Antelope Mountain.

Antelope Mountain Quartzite. Included in Yreka assemblage, eastern Klamath Mountains. Locally interbedded with or overlies Duzel Phyllite. Shown on sketch map of Yreka-Gazelle-Callahan area. Age of Yreka assemblage is provisionally considered Ordovician and/or Silurian.
