Pink and gray fine-grained leucogranitic gneiss in Alexandria Bay, NY, are here named the Alexandria Bay Gneiss of the Piseco Group. Overlies the Pharaoh Mountain Gneiss and is the basal unit of the Piseco Group exposed in the Northwest Lowlands. It is equivalent to the Brant Lake Gneiss in the central and eastern Adirondacks. Unconformably underlies the Baldface Hill Gneiss of the Oswegatchie Group. Thickness is 1,200 m. Age is Proterozoic.
