Summary:

Academy Church Shale Member of Springer Formation of Noble Ranch Group. Gray, black, blocky, with interbedded brittle beds. Thickness 76.2 m at type locality. Overlies Lake Ardmore Member of Springer; underlies Primrose Sandstone Member of Golf Course Formation. Age is Early Pennsylvanian (Morrowan).
Type locality: in E/2 NE/4 NW/4 SE/4 and W/2 NW/4 NE/4 SE/4 sec. 1, T. 3 S., R. 2 E., Carter Co., south-central OK.
