Type section: East side of U.S. Highway 77, in sec. 18, T. 2 S., R. 2 E., southeast of Chapman Ranch buildings [Murray Co.] southeastern OK. Named from ranches owned by John Butterly and Butterly brothers at southeast end of West Timbered Hills, in secs. 28 and 29, T. 1 S., R. 1 E. (Decker, 1939).
