Data Model Design Technical Team
The Data Model Design Team (DMDT) was established in 1999 by the North American Geologic Map Data Model Steering Committee (NADMSC). DMDT’s objective is to draft a standard geologic map data model to aid interoperability of geologic map-centered databases developed by state, provincial, and federal geological surveys. The model is being developed to provide a conceptual basis for the design of various schema, such as those for databases and data interchange formats.
