Type Locality:
Named from Quinebaug River, which in Plainfield and Danielson quadrangles, CT, flows only over rocks of formation (Dixon, 1964).

Named (Dixon, 1964).
Age modified (Zartman and others, 1965; Goldsmith, 1980).
Extended into MA; Age modified (Goldsmith and others, 1982).
