Type Locality:
Outcrops in 0.5 mi-wide belt on each limb of Murphy synclinorium. Western belt extends along west side of Dean Ridge, through Windy Ridge, and along Sugar Creek. Eastern belt lies west of Lake Toccoa, Mineral Bluff quadrangle, Fannin Co., GA (Hurst, 1955).
