Geologic Unit: Anakeesta
Anakeesta Formation of Great Smoky Group of Ocoee Supergroup (TN*,NC*)
Named from Anakeesta Ridge, a high spur between Mount Le Conte and Newfound Gap, Sevier Co., south-central TN. Typically exposed along U.S. Highway 441 from base of ridge up to the gap (King and others, 1958).
