Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Occurs on west side of Trinity River, upstream from mouth of Ventioner Creek, and exposed 1 mi west of Ventioner Creek bridge, Wise Co., [Trinity River Valley] north-central TX. Origin of name not stated by author, but probably named from Ventioner Creek (Scott and Armstrong, 1932).
