Not designated. Named from Sentinel Mountain at head of Oxyoke Canyon in vicinity of Eureka, on lower southeast slope of which it is well exposed [Lat. 39 deg. 26 min. 02 sec. N., Long. 115 deg. 52 min. 37 sec. W., Pinto Summit 15-min quadrangle, White Pine Co., NV] (Nolan and others, 1956).
