Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type sections (of members): in Tijuana-Rosarito Beach area, Baja California, Mexico (Minch, 1967); also, in US, along south side of Sweetwater Valley (Sweetwater Member), and northeeast side of Chester Canyon (Otay Member), San Diego Co., CA (Kuper and Gastil, 1977).
