Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Packard Mountain in Prescott, Hampshire Co., west-central MA (Emerson, 1917).
Town of Prescott was obliterated by establishment of Quabbin Reservoir, so all exposures are present on Prescott Peninsula of Quabbin Reservoir (Robinson and Luttrell, 1985).
