Type locality: south side of Leach Canyon, Iron Springs district, in southern part of T. 36 S., R. 13 W., Desert Mound quadrangle, Iron Co., southwestern UT. Named from Leach Canyon (Mackin, 1960; see also Averitt, 1967).
