Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: south-facing scarp of small hill north of Panguitch Creek at the 36-mile post of Utah Highway 143 about 1.5 mi (2.4 km) east of Panguitch Lake (NW/4 sec. 35, T. 35 S., R. 7 W.), Haycock Mountain quadrangle, northern Markagunt Plateau, southwesternmost High Plateaus, Iron Co., southwestern UT. Named from Haycock Mountain located just south of type section in western Garfield Co., UT (Anderson, 1993; Anderson and Hintze, 1993).
