Type section stated to be on northeast flank of Black Mountains, Death Valley National Monument, Lat. 36 deg. 19 min. 53 sec. N., Long. 116 deg. 44 min. 17 sec. W., Ryan quadrangle, Inyo Co., CA (Marvin and Dobson, 1979).
