Type section: units 1-5 of Nolan's (1935) type Trippe Limestone on ridge south of Dry Canyon, in N/2 sec. 33, T. 9 S., R. 18 W., north Deep Creek Range, Tooele Co., UT. Named from Fish Springs Range, western UT (Hintze and Robison, 1975).
Reference section: in NE/4, SW/4 sec. 33, T. 12 S., R. 14 W., Juab Co., UT (Hintze and Robison, 1975).
