Type locality (composite): exposure near Franklin and Shrewsbury Streets, and the Worcester Mine (coal mine) on the property of Notre Dame Institute, Worcester, Worcester Co., central MA. Named from Coal Mine Brook near the mine (Goldsmith and others, 1982).
