Type section: roadcuts of U.S. Interstate Highway I-75 beginning about 0.4 mi south of Kentucky River and extending southward to 0.6 mi north of KY Highway 388, Madison Co., KY. Named from Calloway Creek, north-central Madison Co., central KY (Weir and others, 1965).
