Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: in sec. 17, T. 4 S., R. 5 W., Tooele Co., UT. Named from Curry Peak in Bingham district (Welsh and James, 1961).
Exposures occur near top of Markham Peak, and on either side of Bingham Canyon, in T. 3 S., R. 2 and 3 W., Salt Lake Co., UT (Swenson, 1975).
