Named from Ajax Mine, [Lat. 39 deg. 55 min. 38 sec. N., Long. 112 deg. 06 min. 46 sec. W., Eureka 7.5-min quadrangle, Juab Co.], 0.25 mi east of Mammoth, Tintic district, central northern UT (Loughlin, IN Lindgren and Loughlin, 1919).
