Type section: cliff exposure at head of large landslide 1.8 km N. 10 deg. E. of Snake River bridge, Flagg Ranch, Teton Co., WY (Christiansen and Blank, 1972).

Name proposed for the basal formation of Yellowstone Group; Isotopic dating (Christiansen and Blank, 1972).
Correlated with Pearlette type B ash (Naeser and others, 1973).
Misidentified (Pierce, 1974).
Revised (Christiansen and Love, 1978).
Age Modified to Pliocene (Love and Christiansen, 1980).
Areal limits, downwind equivalent informally called Huckleberry Ridge ash (Izett and Wilcox, 1982).
