Unit Name History:
Named Winooski Marble (Hitchcock, 1861). Overview; Biostratigraphic dating (Keith, 1923). Redescribed as Winooski Dolomite (Cady, 1945). Redescribed as Winooski Dolostone; Age modified (Zen, 1967). Redescribed as Winooski Formation; Age modified (Dorsey and Stanley, 1982). Areal limits (Thompson, 1990). Age modified (Burton, 1993).
