Type section: roadcuts along U.S. Highway 27 on outskirts of Stanford about 1.2 mi west of Rowland, Lincoln Co., KY (Weir and others, 1965).

Unit Name History:
Named Rowland Member of Drakes Formation (Weir and others, 1965). Extended into west side of Jessamine Dome (Peterson, 1966). Marble Hill Bed assigned (Swadley and Gibbons, 1976). Overview (Wahlman, 1992). Age modified (Frey, 1995).
