Revised to unit of Granby Tuff (Balk, 1957). Revised to Hampden lava member of Meriden formation (Rodgers, 1959). Revised to Hampden Basalt of Newark Group (Lehmann, 1959). Revised to Hampden Basalt of Meriden Group (Sanders, 1968). Age changed (Cornet and others, 1973). Revised to Hampden Basalt (Zen and others, 1983). Assigned to Newark Supergroup (Rodgers, 1985).
