Type area: Mapped in vicinity of Fairfield Pond, Enosburg Falls and St. Albans quadrangles, VT (Dennis, 1961).

Unit Name History:
First used (Dennis, 1961). Named Fairfield Pond member of Underhill formation (Doll and others, 1961). Revised to Fairfield Pond Formation and age modified (Tauvers, 1982). Age modified (DelloRusso and Stanley, 1986).
