Type Locality: Exposed in western part of Pawtucket quadrangle, northeastern RI. Named from village of Esmond, Providence Co. (Quinn and others, 1948) Subunits: Grant Mills Granodiorite (RI) and Esmond Granite (RI,MA) of Esmond Plutonic Suite (Skehan and Rast, 1990). Unit Name History: Named (Quinn, 1948).
