Type section (Honaker Trail section): San Juan Canyon, in SW/4 sec. 29, NW/4 sec. 32, T. 41 S., R. 18 E., San Juan Co., southeastern UT (Pray and Wray, 1963).
Forms top of point known as The Horn, which overlooks the canyon (Miser, 1924).
