On Highway 39, in center sec. 14, T. 27 S., R. 22 E., 1.5 mi north of Hepler [2 mi according to P.H. Heckel (1991, Kansas Geol. Survey, Geol. Ser. 4, 67 p.)], Bourbon Co., KS. Named from the town of Hepler, in southwestern Crawford Co., KS (Jewett, 1940a, p. 9). [From Missouri Geol. Survey lexicon (Thompson, 2001); US geologic names lexicon, USGS Bull. 1200.]
