Type locality: bluff of chalk on Tombigbee River at Webb and Sons cotton warehouse in Demopolis, [near Webbs Landing, in NW/4 SW/4 sec. 24, T. 18 N., R. 2 E., Demopolis 7.5-min quadrangle], Marengo Co., western AL (Smith, 1903; Monroe, 1941).
