Geologic Ages

Geologic Age - Comprehensive Search This option allows for selection of one or more geologic ages. You may select ages by ERA, PERIOD, and/or EPOCH. For search purposes, all ages are assumed if none are selected. Age divisions are represented by "check" or "selection" boxes. Select any combination of ages by clicking on the box associated with each age. If you select an era or period, all ages are assumed and enabled for the entire era or period. Also, periods and epochs may be de-selected after selecting an entire era or period. Related ages are automatically enabled or disabled as the user selects desired ages. You may clear all selections within an era or period by selecting and then immediately de-selecting the same era or period. Age definitions are also available.

Geologic Age - Quick Search This option allows for selection of one or more geologic ages. You may select ages by ERAs and/or PERIODs. For search purposes, all ages are assumed if none are selected. ERAs are represented by "check" or "selection" boxes. PERIODS are represented by scrollable lists. Select any combination of ERAs by clicking on the appropriate "selection" box. De-select ERAs by clicking on a previously selected box. Select any combination of PERIODs by scrolling the list and clicking on any combination from each list. The PERIOD name will become highlighted. Some platform browsers may require pressing a specific key or keys, such as the "command" or "control" key, in order to make multiple selections. On a Macintosh using Netscape, for example, the "command" key must be pressed when making multiple selections. Also, you may de-select by clicking on a highlighted PERIOD. Again, depending on the platform and/or browser, you may have to use the "command" or "control" key when de-selecting. Age definitions are also available.
